Thrive With Chaos
Thrive with Chaos is dedicated to the belief that Public Safety/First Responders deserve a second chance after experiencing life and career-altering events. Our organization, culturally qualified and deeply rooted in understanding, offers a range of services tailored to help public safety/first responders rebuild their lives. These services include Individual Therapy, Couples Therapy, Case Management, Peer-led relapse prevention education groups, Peer-led life skills groups, CBT and CPT programs, 3-5 day experiential workshops, Wellness Checks, CISM services, consulting, training, and our specialized FLIP (First Life Intervention Program).
Values, Mission, and Vision:
At the heart of Thrive with Chaos is a commitment to treating our staff with dignity and respect, emphasizing the importance of self-care. We prioritize our participants' confidentiality, striving to earn their trust, and firmly believe that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity.
Our mission is to provide a trustworthy environment for Public Safety and other employer groups, offering a comprehensive mental health and substance abuse continuum of care. This includes therapeutic services, CISM, and training and education. Our ultimate vision is to establish a mental health, substance abuse treatment, and training organization that fosters trust. By developing various programs for our clients, their families, and organizations, we aim to give employees the opportunity to retain their jobs and rebuild trust with their coworkers and families. If we achieve our goals, we hope to significantly reduce suicide rates and marital discord within the Public Safety/First Responder communities.
Thrive with Chaos and the FLIP program are the brainchildren of Libby Timmons, a visionary with over 35 years of experience in the helping profession. As the President and founder of Thrive with Chaos, an expansion of LT Counseling, Ms. Timmons has previously founded and owned several successful companies focusing on mental health and substance abuse services. This initiative is built on the convictions of culturally qualified professionals who believe in the worth of saving Public Safety/First Responders' careers and families. Many involved in shaping this company and its programs are either First Responders themselves or closely related to them. They've seen firsthand the devastating effects of alcohol misuse or the symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress on these brave individuals.
The Current Crisis:
The urgency of our mission is underscored by alarming statistics. Suicide rates for Public Safety continue to rise. Over 50% of career firefighters have reported recent heavy or binge drinking. An estimated 30% of first responders develop conditions like depression and PTSD, rates significantly higher than the general population. The risk of alcohol and drug use is observed in up to 40% of EMTs and paramedics. These figures underscore the pressing need for specialized programs like Thrive with Chaos and FLIP.
